Fifty four years later, this material still has NEVER surfaced on lp, cd or any other media format, though some discographies list is as "private tape", so apparently it's known of - though extremely rare. In the 1990’s I transferred the original acetate onto a digital format and am offering a few copies of this material to dedicated jazz fans and collectors.
The group plays two selections - a 10 minute rendition of "I Feel a Song Coming On" with the same musical arrangement as the Sonny/Max/Clifford classic rendition from the Prestige lp "Sonny Rollins Plus 4". They also do a short version of Daahoud, where announcer Guy Wallace breaks in to talk about the band. Of course the music is sensational and the fidelity is very good for a live recorded broadcast from the 1950's (there are two "one second dropouts" in the very beginning of one song)
